Hollywood Glamour Meets ART at the Faena Hotel
Glamour, Art, Hip and Luxury... just a few words to begin to describe this incredible Miami Beach hotel. Think old hollywood 1950s glamour meets art and luxury. The hotel is the anchor of the new Faena art district which has breathed new life into this Miami Beach neighborhood. The Faena Hotel is one of Miami Beach’s newest “it” hotels. From the moment you walk into the lobby lined by gold columns and breathtaking murals of lush tropical scenes you are surrounded by the utlimate in luxury. The staff and concierge cannot do enough to help.
Our premium one bedroom suite took our breathaway not just with the decor but our wrap around balcony with full views of the ocean. The reds and aqua blues create a peaceful, hip feel. Butler service is included in these suites. Take advantage of breakfast and coffee in the room- the morning sun and view is truly stunning.
The Faena doesn’t disappoint with its restaurants and bars. Pao, an award winning restaurant by Paul Qui (winner of Top Chef and James Beard award for Best Chef), features a modern fusion of Asian and French cuisine. The Wagyu Carpaccio and East Side Fried Chicken are a must order!! Reservations required. Step into the Living Room bar for a taste of Miami’s hot nightlife. Small bites are available here but more importantly live evening music and DJs. Good idea to reserve a table.
The Tierra Santa Healing House features one of the largest hammams on the East Coast. Just because you are in a spa doesn’t mean no art. The white decor accented by a bright rainbow chandelier and pillows in the waiting area highlight a breathaking mural. My masasage was fabulous!
Faena is about glamour and luxury; its presentation of the arts is unparalleled. The lobby murals, which continue out above the pool bar, the golden unicorn standing tall in central of Pao are all stunning. But perhaps the coolest piece of art is the gigantic, gold-gilded woolly mammoth skeleton that sits encased next to the pool in the garden. This piece called “Gone but not Forgotten” (2014) by Damien Hirst is incredible both during the day and even more impressive all lit up at night.
But Faena doesn’t stop with just visual art. The hotel includes a theater inspired by European opera houses and the glitter of old Hollywood. The 150 seat theater is very intimate and features C’est Rouge (Thurs- Saturday). The show features several vignettes of dance and gymnastics all set to Latin American and jazz music. This show is the ultimate in high end fashion-Jaun Gatti and Laurent Mercier designed the costumes and Christain Laboutain the footwear. Show times are 8:00 and 10:00. The 8:00 show offers the option of a 7:00pm dinner seating as well.
For the ultimate in luxury, art and sophistication, the Faena Hotel is the only choice in Miami Beach.
